REQUIREMENTS:

Read two stories “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” by Robert Louis Stevenson
and “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley – I included the link to both books in the upcoming paragraph in case you are not familiar with the books.

Write a four-page essay to evaluate the masculine prerogative by evaluating how Utterson (in “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”) and the Robert (in “Frankenstein”), respectively, assert and relinquish power through their narrative voices.

Remember, the essay must include a works cited page (which does not count in the 4 page requests)

In addition, the essay will consist of 5 paragraphs: an introduction, 3 body paragraphs, and a solid conclusion.

The essay must incorporate 6 direct quotes (2 quotes from the primary source per body paragraphs) to substantiate the central claim (thesis). The work needs to present a strong-academic thesis which needs to be written in italic. Papers without an academic thesis or a generalized ones won’t be graded.

The essay will be double-spaced and comply with MLA standards: it must be written in 12 point, Times New Roman, 1” margins on all slides.

The essay must write the essay in the third person and the literary present tense, as has been the expectation all semester.

Finally, students will only include quotes from the primary source. Students are forbidden to introduce quotes from any other source. NO EXTERNAL REFERENCES SHOULD BE USED.

You MUST check the attached file entitled “outline” – the professor clearly stated what should be discussed in each paragraph. It also states the exact range of sentences for each part of the paper. It is essential to write this paper based on that outline.

This is a writing task which means that NO GRAMMAR ERRORS can be accepted. I am a native English speaker so any papers which does not meet this demand won’t be considered. Also NO Plagiarism as the work will be double checked.
