The sale of organs falls under what economists call repugnant transactions and this is the primary reason organ sales are illegal everywhere in the world, except Iran (this also leads to black market transactions). This podcast introduces you to the notion of repugnant transactions, discusses some of the pros/cons of legalizing the sale of organs, and also highlights how kidney exchanges take place in the US.
