In this assignment you will be creating an assessment tool for you to use in your proposal. The goal of this assignment is how you plan to assess the methods, the goal, and the objectives described in the proposal. To this end, consider the feedback that you have received to date. When putting together a framework for program success, there is usually a team of experts who work in collaboration to complete the goal. You will be the team of experts and provide the framework. Please review the Week Two methods and timeline section where you described your activities that will be conducted.
The following are six reasons to conduct an assessment:
- Program effectiveness
- Identify the needs
- Determine the usage
- Identify cost (i.e., Is this program cost effective?)
- Determine if learning occurred
- Engaging environment of the population that you are serving
Based on the activities you described in your program, you will create a framework with the following elements:
- Step 1: Engage stakeholders – Those persons involved in or affected by the program and primary users of the evaluation.
- Step 2: Describe the program – Need, expected effects, activities, resources, stage, context, and logic model.
- Step 3: Focus the evaluation design – Purpose, users, uses, questions, methods, and agreements.
- Step 4: Gather credible evidence – Indicators, sources, quality, quantity, and logistics.
- Step 5: Justify conclusions – Standards, analysis/synthesis, interpretation, judgment, and recommendations.
- Step 6: Ensure use and share lesson learned – Design, preparation, feedback, follow-up, and dissemination (CDC, 2012).
You will now write a narrative inclusive of the five steps above. Remember that your funder has no idea about your program and it is your responsibility to inform your funder.
