Mesa Community College Science Communication and Biology Discussion

In at least 100 words, describe how you think that science communication intersects with biology. You can make this as broad or specific as you would like! Comment on the responses of at least two of your peers

1: Science communication and biology do indeed share a correlation considering that both are applicable in each other’s field of study. I feel that science communication is the idea of sharing or spreading the knowledge of topics that are science related. Biology is the study of life and is considered a life science which I can say with confidence uses science communication. We are all ca[able of spreading knowledge to our peers and it us up to them to retain the information for their sake or interest. Publishing a paper on a topic that is newly discovered or highly debated is a form of communication. It allows readers to learn the information and analyze it themselves to formulate their own premises.

2: Biology and science communication intersect in many areas. Science communication with the public is important, even more so with biology. Biologists make great efforts to communicate with the public and keep them informed. This helps the public to continue supporting the biologists and to keep faith in Biology. Would Biology even be here without science communication with the general public? I certainly doubt it. People fear what they do not understand, and they would certainly not fund any endeavors they fear. Biology would be nowhere near as advanced or influential without science communication. This is the most general but arguably the most important area of intersection between the two. Thank you for reading
