Medical Terminology BIOL-200

This week is a slightly more challenging discussion, I am requesting that you write a terminology limerick. A limerick is typically a lewd but humorous poem of 5 lines with an aabba rhyme scheme and the 2 ‘b’ lines are typically the shortest. While the contents of Chapter 10 may lend itself to more potty humor, please keep your limerick in PG (appropriate for young children) format. Your limerick may look like this:

There was a young student from Clyde,

And they can’t remember the definition of “-cide”,

They read with skill,

Learning it means “to kill”,

Spermatocide causes cells to die when applied!

I have honestly enjoyed your creativity in this portion of the course. This week, I would like you to add the chapter terminology to your favorite song. Please include the name and artist of the song for reference and your version of the song with terminology lyrics. I am only asking for a verse or the chorus if it isn’t simply a word repeating over and over, no need to adapt an entire song unless you are feeling extra creative 🙂 Just a few rules – 1) try to keep the song PG rated and 2) you will receive 5 points extra credit if you include an authentic video (you can link it to a TikTok or other social media account) of you performing the song preferably with a musical instrument.

Here is my example:

Now, I’ve heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music, do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Now I’ve heard there was a thyroid gland
That smaller than your actual hand,
But you don’t really know T3, do you?
It spikes your metabolic rate,
And helps your body lose the weight
As well as calcitonin Hallelujah
