MCC The Story of Oedipus the King Poetry Analysis

For this assignment, you will need to analyze one of the poems found on your syllabus and do so in a multi-modal way

Multi-modal means that you present the information using more than one method (text, images, video, audio, etc.).  Here is a helpful link to a more lengthy discussion:  https://www.uis.edu/cas/thelearninghub/writing/handouts/rhetorical-concepts/what-is-multimodal/ (Links to an external site.)

Choose one of the following assignments:

1. Create a video representation of your poem.  You may act it out in a new way or new interpretation, analyze it, or find another creative way to present it.  You will need to include a 250 word abstract (explanation or description) of your video.  You may submit the video or a URL to YouTube if you upload it there.

2. Create a blog or website (WordPress, Blogspot, Blogger, Padlet).  You will need to include a 250 word abstract (explanation or description) of your project.

3. Create a Presentation using text and the addition of photos or videos or animation (think PowerPoint, Sway, Prezi, Canva, Powtoon).  You will need to include a 250 word abstract (explanation or description) of your project.

Choose any character from the play and any of his or her actions throughout the entirety of the play. Should [the character you chose] have done [the action in question]?

Provide thorough details of the action you chose.

2 Choose two characters from this play – any two characters, major or minor. How are these two characters similar? Provide thorough details for your answer.

3 Who was greedy in this story? Provide thorough details for your answer.

4 Who was sincere in this story? Provide thorough details for your answer.

5 What does this story remind you of? (This is called an association – when something makes you think of something else.) Your answer to this question can range from another story you have read to a movie to one of your own life experiences, as long as you can tie your association directly to any aspect of the play. Provide thorough details for your answer.

Oedipus the King (from your textbook OR you can Google this very well-known play),
