  • Worth 20% of final grade (Part A worth 40 Marks and Part B worth 60 Marks)
  • The Midterm exam is comprised of TWO separate tests. Please make sure you complete BOTH Part A and Part B of the Midterm Exam.
  • Remember, you will have only one attempt to complete each part of the exam. After you click “Submit and Save” you will not be able to return to the submission page for submitting.
  • Each Part of the exam is timed separately, and you will complete each section independently. You will have 60 minutes (1 hour) to complete Part A and 120 minutes (2 hours) to complete Part B. 
  • You can do both Parts in whichever order you wish, but you must submit both within the Exam Time Period (between Saturday of Unit 6 at 12:01 a.m. and Sunday of Unit 6 at 11:30 p.m.).
  • If your connection to the campus times out due to inactivity, please log back into the campus to continue the exam. Please note, the time on the clock will continue counting down during that time.
  • If you have any technical issues, please contact Technical Support immediately by clicking on the Ask YU icon in the top right of any screen on the campus.

Midterm Part A Instructions

  • Midterm Part A consists of 20 multiple choice questions in Moodle quiz format, worth 2 marks each, for a total of 40 marks for Part A. You will have 60 minutes (1 hour) to complete Part A.

Midterm Part B Instructions

  • Midterm Part B consists of 7 short-answer questions that may require you to show your work, for a total of 60 marks for Part B. You will have 120 minutes (2 hours) to complete Part B.
  • When you start Part B, the questions will be listed on a single page. You should prepare your responses in one consolidated Word document (or equivalent program) and upload this file to the exam using the upload file feature at the bottom of the question page. This process will allow you to use an equation editor to show how you arrive at your answers.

Part B Submission

  • When you are done your exam Part B, type the phrase “See below” in the textbox and then click on the upload file feature button to upload your saved Word (or equivalent program) document.
