Many autoimmune diseases such as the ones we discussed either in AP 1 rheumatoid arthritis, myasthenia gravis, and in AP 2 such as Multiple Sclerosis, Graves Disease, Hashimoto Thyroiditis and others involve treatments with drugs.

  1. Why is treatment with drug type A (prednisone/cortisone ) and or drug type B ( such as methotrexate ) needed or  desirable for such diseases listed above
  2. Using those drugs for GRAVES disease treatment , what would be the RESULTS for those patients , hopefully ?
  3. Usually they refrain from using type A DRUGS /prednisone or cortisone for long term or chronic treatment and instead they may keep DRUG TYPE B /Methotrexate . Explain WHY this may be indicated . ( what is the main difference between the drug TYPES and why using TYPE B or Methotrexate instead of type A or cortisone may be a good alternate
