prediction of the same data for future. Make sure you report
data on GDP and GDP growth, inflation rate, government
deficit, trade deficit, rate of unemployment, etc., and the
source of your data
Important note:
1. Make sure you do two parts for the posted Blackboard topic; the summary posting and the interactions/responses. Also, make sure you put the list of your sources you use for your posting at the top left corner of your first page.
2. Start to participate in the discussion at least one week before the deadline. If you wait until the last day to participate and have technical problem with Blackboard, your excuse will not be accepted and you will not earn any points. No excuses will be accepted. No exceptions.
Grading criteria for Blackboard participation
Your Blackboard participation work will be graded based on the following 4 criteria.
1. Comprehension of Concept(s)- 25 points
2. Literature Analysis/Synthesis of Research/Topic– 25 points
3. Writing style-25 points
4. Theoretical approach-25 points
A minimum of 5 interactions/responses is required. You may earn up to 10 points for each interaction/response.
Criteria:
Sources–You must cite all sources used. No sources, no points. A minimum of one article from a reputable publication (some random guy’s blog is insufficient) is required. If you use one source, you may earn up to 40 points, two sources up to 70 points, and three sources up to 100 points. more is certainly better. Sources must be unique (no duplicates among students, with exception of citing official government statistics), reliable, relevant, and timely. There will be a link on Blackboard to attach your sources, in addition to proper citations within your discussion.
Original Summary/Individual Posts— Each student is required to initiate an original thread within the discussion forum. The post should include, in at least 400 words, a summary of any articles or other material used in your research, your responses to the above questions, and anything else you find relevant to enhance or stimulate the discussion. You can earn up to 50 points for your interactions.
Discussion—One of the primary purposes of this assignment is to integrate various points of view. You are required to interact with others’ postings (at least 5 other students, 6 threads total, including your own), contributing to a fruitful discussion, in addition to your own summary and insights. You are expected to respond and interact with those who comment and contribute to your own thread. Interactions/responses should be thoughtful, sufficiently supported, respectful, and of sufficient length to provide ample discussion (at least 75 words). The most important factor in earning points in this discussion is to apply economic theories, models, definitions, terminologies, concepts, and other topics covered in this course. It is required to list all of your sources/references at the top of your first discussion page. It is required to use APA writing style in your postings as well as when you use references.
