I’m working on a writing discussion question and need an explanation to help me learn.
- post for M01 Discussion: “Possible Research Questions” that you’d like to use for your research proposal. Revise this question, as needed, based on feedback from your peers, your instructor, and/or your own growing understanding of your research topic. Record this research question in your initial post.
- Find two (2) more sources that offer you new and useful information, ideas, and perspectives on your research question, using one or more databases (other than Opposing Viewpoints in Context) available at the Ivy Tech Library website.
- In 1-2 sentences each, briefly summarize each of the new sources. Also record the sources’ author(s), source title, publisher or publication title, and date of publication.
- Next, answer the following questions about your sources:
-
- What new information, ideas, or perspectives do these new sources provide in comparison to the two previous sources found in Module 1? How do the information, ideas, and perspectives contained in your new sources differ from the previous ones? How do you think these new information, ideas, and perspectives will be useful to you?
- In what ways are the information, ideas, and perspectives contained in your new sources similar to your previous ones? Where do your sources corroborate each other or find common ground?
- What kind of publication is each new source (EX: news report, newspaper or magazine editorial, book chapter, professional journal article, statistical report, political analysis, etc.)? Are these the same kinds of publications as your previous two sources or are they different? How do think the kind of publication influences what content is included in each source? Explain in detail and provide example from your sources.
