Politicians have many stances when it comes to scientific information, however, science is not a belief or a feeling, it is evidence-based. Many politicians often express their beliefs or thoughts on science in the public arena as whole truths, when many times these statements are anything but. Your project will be to take one of these actual quotes of politicians and determine whether their statements are based on science or belief. Some of these statements are half-truths. They may have taken information that is true but twists it in order to meet an agenda.
You will choose a quote to research. From the information in the quote, find valid scientific evidence (i.e. peer-reviewed or credible science sources) to support or disprove the statement provided. Make sure you are using SCIENTIFIC evidence not opinions. You may also want to consider the politician and discuss why they would make this type of statement.
