Please submit the Main Idea and Four Points of Support for your upcoming Essay #1.

The Main Idea is to be chosen from the list of three possible choices we have discussed within the lectures. Please watch the lectures before submitting the main idea and the four points of support.

The Four Points of Support will be the rough outline for your paragraphs.

Here are two examples of an ideal submission of the Main Idea and Four Points of Support:

SusieQ Student’s Submission:

My main idea will be “It is Important to Protect Your Identity Online.”

My four supporting points will be:

1) It is important to understand that different technology companies have different privacy policies.

2) The cloud is not a “cloud” but a massive storage system.

3) Over “sharing” may lead to theft.

4) Do not “click” on unknown links.

BobbyV Student’s Submission:

My main idea will be “Research Sources Matter.”

My four supporting points will be:

1) Every written source (textbooks, articles, books) is written by a person and therefore cannot be completely without bias.

2) Reading a variety of sources will improve your critical thinking skills.

3) Understanding how the source collected information is vital in discerning if the source is credible.

4) Understanding that not everything you read is credible is key to writing a great essay.
