Lone Star College Treatment Diagnosis Decision Symptoms Plan Case Study

Terry, a 29-year-old male, has been experiencing more and more recurrent episodes of feeling lightheaded, dizzy, having rapid breathing, and rapid heartbeat, especially when he tries to leave his house. He states that it all seemed to start a few months ago when he experienced similar symptoms while at work during a meeting. Terry is not sure what caused him to feel this way. He even went to his doctor to get a physical to make sure he was healthy. The doctor told him that all his tests came back normal and he could find nothing wrong that would explain the feelings Terry was having. Terry had more episodes while at work, when out shopping, and even when he took his dog for a walk in the neighborhood where he has lived for six years. The symptoms have now become so severe that he is leaving his house less and less frequently. He now only goes to the grocery store in the company of his sister. Once he is in the store, he makes sure he checks for all the exits. His sister is worried about him. Terry has lost his job and has not been able to go for any interviews due to his symptoms. He recently heard about a great job opportunity working for his “dream” company but is afraid to apply due to his symptoms.
