You are tasked with interfacing an SN54AS869 (datasheet below) 8-bit up/down counter to the microprocessor emulator that you use in the lab. In order to be able to give the ‘869 an address and in order to be able to control its functions (load, up/down count, etc.), you will need to use the devices that you have learned previously, such as the ‘373, ‘244, decoders, and any necessary logic gates.
Design your circuit and simulate it in LogicWorks. The user should be able to load a value to the counter at its port address (pick the port address and write it in your LogicWorks file), decide if the counter should count up or down, load a value to the counter, and start the counter.
Submit your LogicWorks file.
