Your written analysis should be the form of a report. Reports are clearly organized and use titles, subheadings, and bullet points. This should be about 2 pages single spaced (2.5 pages max).
- You will begin by giving the rhetorical information for the text: title, author, date, publication or source, target audience, and purpose.
- List Content, Organization, Language, Design, and Values separately; identify 2-3 features for each element, include quoted and/or paraphrased text that is an example of each feature, analyze each feature and explain how these features connect to the text’s effectiveness or ineffectiveness.
- What is your evaluation of the text? Does the author accomplish the purpose of the genre? Is it effective? Explain your ideas.
