Light Pollution Survey Questions

Assignment:  Your next step is to produce a survey on a central organizing question that has developed from your research so far.   For example, let’s suppose that you are a hospitality major.   Perhaps you found some interesting information on dark sky tourism while doing your literature review.  For this assignment, you might develop your survey around a central question such as:   How much do people value the night sky in selecting vacation venues?    Or maybe you learned about legal ordinances around the idea of light reduction in urban areas.   Perhaps you will write a survey around a central question such as:   What do people know and think about dark sky laws?

Your task is to produce a 10-12 question survey using Google Forms.   Here are the sub-steps that you will do to produce the draft version prior to setting up the final version:

  1. Watch this video on how to produce a survey in Google Forms  Short Video On Survey Making (Links to an external site.) Passcode: us33W.A?.
  2. Draft a survey of ten questions on your topic in Word.   Assume you will be sending this to everyone you know who speaks English.    You will draft the questions and possible answers as well as decide on what you will say to introduce the survey, where you will distribute it,  and to whom.   You must be sure that your questions are grammatically accurate and clear.    Please read this handout on some tips for designing questions:   Writing Survey Questions (Links to an external site.).    Also, review the grammar around the correct formation of questions in English.    Here is a slide show that can help you learn more (or review more) about how to form questions in English: Forming Questions in English (Links to an external site.)
