Lifting Analysis Tools NIOSH ACGIH Lifting TLV & Liberty Mutual MMH Tables Essay

I’m working on a writing multi-part question and need guidance to help me study.

1. Compare and contrast the lifting analysis tools (NIOSH, ACGIH Lifting TLV, Liberty Mutual MMH tables) to the upper extremity analysis tools (RULA, HAL TLV, Strain Index). How are they similar? How are they different? Do you have more confidence in one set of tools (lifting or upper extremity) and why?

2. Congratulations, you have been hired as the head of efficiency and safety for Amazon. They have “Pickers” whose job it is to fill online orders. They have asked you to design their storage facility which holds all items available on Amazons website that weigh less than 100 pounds and are in boxes no bigger than 40” x 40” 40”. The company is concerned about efficiency and personnel safety with respect to the Picker picking packages and loading them onto a pallet cart which consists of a wood pallet on the floor attached to a pallet dolly. Your manager asks you to design a product storage strategy for the shelves and a lifting policy for the pickers, basically he says “we need to know and provide information to our pickers on how much and how often they can lift”?

Explain your logic and come up with a recommendation. You must state how you would solve the problem and have the choice to provide (or not provide) hard numbers or a hard number (acceptable weight in pounds) for the lifting limit and frequency.
