Scans of the brain and face are frequently completed to diagnose pathologies. Choose a pathology that occurs in the brain or face. Locate two articles (published within the last 5 years) on this pathology from radiologic technology and healthcare journals. The online library and the ASRT site are good resources.

Research your pathology topic and write a 2-3 page paper explaining the role sectional anatomy has in disease diagnosis. Consider the following questions as you develop your assignment:

1. How is sectional anatomy used to diagnose the pathology?
2. What sectional anatomy modalities and specific exams are used to diagnose the pathology?
3. How does sectional anatomy impact disease treatment?
4. What advanced imaging techniques (MIPs, Volume Rendering, 3-D Reconstruction etc.) are used when completing cross sectional anatomy images to diagnose or treat your selected pathology?

Additional references such as websites, books, interviews with healthcare professionals may be used but citations are required from two radiologic technology journals for this assignment.
