The Legacy Paper
This paper will be MLA formatted and will be due on November 16, 2018 at 11:59 on Canvas.
For this paper, you will demonstrate the cause and effect approach with argument. You will select two people, events, movements, or issues that has established an impact in society.
The First Legacy Topic-Historical
For this topic, you will choose a historical event or person, who has made a significant impact on society. You will search out the event and discuss the situation that occurred that led up to the person, event, issue happening. You will then discuss the action from the person, event, issue and how the action impacted the society. How did the event begin? The person become involved? What was the effect on the society?
The Second Legacy Topic-Current
You will do the same thing that you have done for the historical portion, but you will research a current event and look at the same components that are found in the historical portion of the paper.
The Link between the two sections
You’re objective is to make sure that you show the link between the historical and current person, event, issue, etc.
In Your Essay:
- Provide a thesis that explains how the two legacies are so significant in society
- Make sure you use correct essay form and proper paragraphing in your essay.
- Use MLA formatting as discussed earlier
- Incorporate detail in your supporting paragraphs and make sure that you have adequate and accurate information from varied sources.
- Do not use sites, like Wikipedia. Use “edu”, “gov” and “org” sites. If you use a “com” site make sure it’s credible like The New York Times or The Washington Post.
