This learning activity supports the following Course Outcome that will be evaluated in the course learning assessment (CLA): Apply a conceptual framework focused on advanced nursing roles.
In the assignment for Unit 2, you will locate a conceptual framework/grand nursing theory, explain how it relates to each of the metaparadigm concepts and then apply it to your future advanced nursing role.
This learning activity will develop your understanding of the importance of the nursing metaparadigm as a component of nursing knowledge in the development of nursing theory. During the learning activity, you will explore how four Nursing theorists have incorporated the metaparadigm concepts into their respective conceptual frameworks/grand nursing theories to support their philosophies and worldviews. You will also examine the value of the conceptual framework/grand nursing theory to the advanced nursing roles of nurse practitioner, nurse educator or executive leader.
