This week you will write a first draft of a paper and submit it to Smarthinking for feedback. Next week you will revise your paper, based on the comments you receive from Smarthinking, and submit your final draft.
For your paper, research the topic of Leadership and Communication. Make sure you answer and address the following questions in your APA formatted paper:
- What communication strategies are associated with effective leadership?
- What are some barriers to effective communication that a leader should overcome?
Be sure to evaluate the sources you find via the library or open Web for credibility. To make this assignment more meaningful for you, base it on your job or other life experience as much as possible.
(NOTE: I am currently employed as a Nurse Assistant and would greatly appreciate it if you include my profession as the example that’s requested of this assignment.)

This section is where you include your thesis statement. Again, tie your paper to an issue at your job or in your life that addresses leadership and communication. Use what you learned in Leadership and Communication to help you. Ask yourself two important questions: Who is the audience and what is the message?
Body of the Paper
In this section, answer the two questions:
- What communication strategies are associated with effective leadership?
- What are some barriers to effective communication that a leader should overcome?

In this section,
