The purpose of this assignment is to educate the class regarding significant contributions made to the field of psychology by women and minority members.  These individuals do not require a degree in psychology. 

Students will prepare a narrated Power Point presentation on their chosen individual.  Selections are first come, first served; duplicates are not permitted.  The presentation will last approximately 10 minutes and address each of the elements below; if additional slides are needed feel free to add them.

Direct quotes from sources are not permitted and will result in a score of 0.  Three sources are required; Wikipedia or other encyclopedia-type sites may be used but will not count toward the 3.

Slide 1:  Name of person, birth/death year (unless still living!), picture

Slide 2:  Family background, noteworthy childhood experiences

Slide 3:  College/university training, including degrees earned and mentors

Slide 4:  Professional positions held and any other professional accomplishments

Slide 5:  Area(s) of psychology expertise, contributions to the field of psychology

Slide 6:  Challenges/adversity that the individual overcame

Slide 7:  How the individual’s work has impacted or made an impression on you
