Divide your team into two groups for a debate. Groups will debate the following positions:

Write a 350-word opening argument for each position, for a total of two arguments.
- Include scholarly references supporting your arguments.
Share opening arguments with the other group.
Consider the following topics when drafting debate arguments and rebuttals:
- Alternatives to waterboarding
- Laws that restrict waterboarding as an interrogation technique
- Tenants from any of the world’s major religions that either support or prohibit techniques like waterboarding
- Leaders who have spoken out against waterboarding
- Leaders who have spoken out in favor of waterboarding
Combine both groups’ arguments into one document and submit the document to faculty.
