Meghan WalshOct 18, 2021 11:17 AMI think that two of the most important things I learned during this course came from our week 4 professional development plan paper. This assignment allowed me to become familiar with the NONPF competencies and scope of practice of APRNs in the state of Florida, where I intend to practice upon completion of the program. The NONPF competencies are important for nurses who are continuing their education into an advanced practice role and serve as a guide to providing evidence-based and patient-centered care. Another important thing I learned is how much research can influence and change nursing care. This was an important thing for me to learn because at this current time I do not engage in much research outside of our program. However, this course has allowed me to see how research is utilized to change current practices to reflect best-practice and continue to provide safe, quality care to patients; as a result of this discovery, I have been working toward creating more time to perform research in my free time in preparation for my advanced nursing role.To ensure my success in the master’s program, I will maintain a good work-life-school balance. To do this, I will take time for self-care, reward myself, and get support. I know that throughout the program I will face many challenges especially when it comes to maintaining balance, but I know that with the help of those coping skills, which have worked well for me in the past, I will make it through the programdoneAmanda WalkerClass question:Explain how your thoughts on the masters-prepared advance practice nurse role have changed as a result of taking this course.
