Teaching Exceptional Children and Beyond Behavior are excellent journals that are peer-reviewed but also user-friendly.
Paper cites related article, which is attached, and at least one other scholarly or professional source appropriately, as frequently as necessary, and in APA style with a references page. professionalism, appropriate grammar, writing style, use of professional register/ voice, and lack of typographical errors.
Opening/ introduction
Paper has a one-paragraph introduction to the topic, describing why the issues addressed by the article are significant and providing context or background information about the disability and related impact on learning, etc.
Description of process
Author describes the process by which they selected the article, addressing issues such as: what databases or search engines were used, if any, and what terms or periodicals were searched, and how they decided to select this article among all of those available. Appropriate reasons for selecting an article could include (but aren’t limited to) its relevance to personal interests, relevance to issues discussed in class, practicality and potential for classroom use, importance to students with disabilities, etc.
Summary of article
Author summarizes the article, describing and defining the strategy and describing steps or conditions needed to implement the strategy, reasons for its use or appropriate populations, and any research findings stated in the article regarding its use for students with disabilities or any other population.
Personal opinion on article and/or related topic:
Author provides personal opinion on the topic and makes reference to appropriate textual evidence, personal experience, current events, law and policy, recognized best practices, etc. to support personal opinion.
