FIRST PEER REVIEW

1. Statement

Video games have helped people develop alternative strategies.

2. Interest

I am interested in this topic because I have noticed in myself and my friends develop alternative strategies when gaming. It is said that video games are the best way to teach people how to use the scientific method. It is also known to improve brain function and certain life skills. I’m interested in how the brain reacts during and after playing certain video games. I want to know both the pros and cons of video gaming in hopes the pros outweigh the cons.

3. Research plan

There are many things I hope to find in this research project. I hope to find certain scientific sources explaining how people develop certain skills when gaming and how it affects their life in real-time. I hope to find a new information and fun facts about how video games became what it is today. I hope to find how video games gained their popularity, and how people find them so entertaining. My questions are: Can video games help real-life skills? It is possible that video games can help the human brain improve certain functions? I’ll look into peer reviews to seek help. I believe receiving feedback is helpful to better my research.

SECOND PEER REVIEW

1,

Learning through an online medium has proven to be just as effective as learning in a classroom.

2.

I wouldn’t necessarily say this topic is interesting to me, more so it’s interesting in how online learning has affected me and everyone else during this trying time. With Covid and lockdown happening suddenly and everything shutting down, we had to get our education entirely online from May 2020 to 2021. Online learning was something we had to get used to over the first year of all this madness, and despite a rough start for many people, the advantages of doing school online began to make themselves known, all the while diminishing the disadvantages. I feel like these need to be talked about more, so that’s why I’m giving myself this task, so we have an idea of what to do with this new system when this lockdown finally fully releases us.

3.

The things I need to look for the most are definitely articles for the positives of online learning and comparison articles for regular classroom learning. I need to find out how the sudden shift to online education affects students’ performances and grades and compare them to before this all started. I’m mostly looking for articles from schools, statistics, and any other scholarly sources pertaining to online education. Besides that, I feel like I’m set in this regard.
