Please sign in as an educator and then scroll down the page to watch the 55-minute video entitled: As American as Public School: 1900-1950. After you watch the film please respond to the following:

- Was there anything in the film that helped you to understand why we are where we are today with public education in this country? Please give specific examples.
- How was education during this period affected by the Chronosystems of the different time periods? Please be specific.
- Why do you think the families in New York City had such a strong reaction to this type of education? How might a community respond to this type of education (The Gary model or Progressive) being offered in public schools today? Please support your answers with evidence from the readings or other credible sources.
- What was the trouble with the IQ movement? Do we still see the effects of that today? In what ways?
