For this discussion assignment, you will critique the John Hopkins COVID-19 Mapping tool found here.
Discussion Assignment Instructions:
1. Select a state and/or region and then a few counties to compare data points on the pandemic at the county level (see example screenshots above).
- Click on tracking, US Map and then select a state and county.
- Click on the county to generate an infographic for each county.
2. Compare two different counties with regards to type of data collected in your discussion post. Write about 3 different data points and how those were different or similar between the 2 counties you selected.
- What is surprising?
- What is expected?
- What data points are missing that you would hope to find in the infographics?
3. Discussion post format to use is below, first post prior to Friday of the week of the discussion. Replies are due by the due date.
- Counties compared from the data map: [county/state 1] and [county/state 2]
- Data points: [data point 1], [data point 2], and [data point 3]
- Discussion on similarities, differences, missing data: Add a 1-2 paragraphs discussion of the data points you compared from the two counties.
