Assignment 3: Jestor’sMagic Website (Part 2) – Database Design

This
assignment consists of two (2) sections: a proposal, and MySQL
database. You must submit both sections as separate files for the
completion of this assignment. You are only to demonstrate the specific
requirements requested.

Imagine that your proposal of creating
the e-Commerce Website for Jestors Inc. has been approved, and you are
hired to complete the Website and database design and development. The
Jestors Inc. management team has decided to use MySQL. They have asked
that you name the Database “Jestors” and they want it to contain
multiple tables that will be used to keep track of customers. They are
confident that you will be able to create all of the needed tables but
ask that you include a table for the products and one that will be used
for customer feedback. The table for customer feedback should include
the following fields: date, time, sender, and message content.

Section 1: Database Design Proposal

1. Write a two to three (2-3) page proposal in which you:

a.
Create a proposal that describes the naming and creation of the tables
used in the Jestor’s database. The tables should include but not limited
to:

i. One (1) table that contains the product list

ii.
One (1) table that is for customer feedback. Note: The table contains
the following fields: date, time, sender, and message content

b. Explain the relationship between the tables.

c. Define the data types that will be used to create the tables.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be
typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with
one-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or
school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional
    instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the
assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title,
and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in
    the required page length.

Section 2: MySQL Database

2.
Create the database and tables that you proposed in the first section
of the assignment using MySQL. Note: Screen shots are required for the
completion of this section of the assignment. If you use Window 7, use
the built in SnipIt tool or capture a screen shot using the print screen
button on the keyboard.

a. Insert at
least three (3) records into the table that will contain the product
list. Provide screen shots of the completed commands.

b.
Insert at least three (3) records into the table that contains the
customer feedback. Provide screen shots of the completed commands.
