There are two articles to read first and based on those readings sample journal should focus on claims and strikes: you should discuss the claims that the author(s) make in the first half of your journal; you should discuss the things that strike you about the reading(s) in the second half. Claims should include the author’s main argument, the introduction of terms or concepts, and any argument the author is making or disputing. Strikes may include anything you learned from the reading, any points you agree or disagree with (and why). You may wish to consider the author’s purpose in writing a particular passage or using a particular style. You can, of course, include a discussion of any terms or concepts you find compelling or confusing.
