It is a philosophy paper
1. Present and explain either: a) the one or two most plausible arguments for
animal rights; or b) the one or two most plausible arguments against
animal rights. When you have done that, consider and evaluate the one or
two best objections to those arguments.
If you are doing this as a short paper: Draw on the assigned
readings for the arguments and objections. You may go outside the
readings if you need to show the arguments and objections in the readings
to be insufficient (and not simply because you think you might not
understand them!).
If you are doing this as a long paper: You must draw upon at least
two outside sources. Be sure to use proper citation procedure and format.
1600-2200 words for a long paper. Also: The long paper must
involve significant outside research and analysis (and proper
citation of sources). It is not just a “thought” or “opinion”
paper.
