The final project is to ask you to prepare a technical report providing information and discussions on your assigned topics (terms) relating to the database field in a business of your choice* (either factual or fictional). Below are the milestones for the final project.

Part 1 Presentation
You need to prepare a 5-minute presentation based on your written report (a narrated, voice over) presentation. (please write down what do I have to say in each slide) For the presentation, please include the title slide, the agenda, the major contents of your technical report, conclusions or recommendation and the reference slide. The presentation length should be about 5 minutes long. Think of it as an elevator speech.
Part 2 Technical report
The document should include:
- A description of your business (either factual or fictional);
- A definition of the term selected. Cite the sources. Give an explanation and definition of the term. Don’t use the definition from the original website.
- Give a 10-25 word Laymen’s definition of the term. In other words, please define this concept in 10-20 words, but in words that anyone without knowledge of databases would understand. Must stay under 25 words.
- Show the importance of your selected term to the business.
- Draw or illustrate this term in a picture/diagram. This can be a picture of the drawing, or something fancier.
- At least 3 vendor products related to the area you select, with a summary of the product (in your own words) and links with their Web sites
- Recommend a vendor product and explain why it is an optimal choice for your business.
Formatting requirements for the word document:
- Your submission should be a minimum of three double-spaced pages of text. Additional pages of cover page, figures, references and appendices are not included in the 3 pages.
- Your report should be submitted as a Microsoft Word file. All text in the manuscript should be double spaced, with a 1 inch margin on all four sides. The paper size should be set to ‘Letter’ (8.5 inches X 11 inches). Manuscripts should be prepared in Times New Roman Font, Font size 12.
- Citation: APA 7.0 format (both in-text citations and bibliography should follow the APA requirement). The paper is subject to grade deduction if there are no in-text citations!
- Your submission should include a minimum of three (3) references.
