Learning Experience (20)
Choose one of the following learning experiences. Perform the experience as instructed and write a 250 word essay describing your experience and what you gained from participating. Provide a comprehensive explanation of your findings, including the answer to the learning experience, as well as how this knowledge can benefit you in your service to your future clients, friends, and/or family.
1. Create a “Do’s and Don’ts” handout to give to your older clients. Make sure you give clear instructions on how to perform the exercises properly. Explain why your alternatives are safer yet still effective.
2. Are you predominantly a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner? On what do you base your answer? Give some specific examples of how you learn best.
3. Interview an older person that is not currently exercising and find out why they do not participate in an activity program. Do they feel that they are too old? Do they not have any desire to exercise? Have they tried an exercise program previously? Did they enjoy it? Do they not have transportation? Include answers to these questions and other pertinent information in your essay.
