Lead-in:
This week lets you look into your own local hospital and discover details of their work with particular ethnic groups in your community. You will have an opportunity to call the Marketing Department of the hospital to gain some detailed responses to questions and learn more from their Website. The paper is being introduced this week so you can begin to plan your time to complete it on time and submit it next week (Week 4) by Day 7.
To Prepare for the Assignment:
- Complete the assigned reading
- Select a local hospital in your region
- Identify ethnic groups served by this hospital
- Contact the hospital marketing department to discover the following
- Ethnic mix treated at the facility (estimates or percentages)
- Accommodations made for this ethnic group (food, religion, patient death, birth rituals, language, family accommodation, patient education etc.)
- What does the care facility feel they do well with this ethnicity? (visit the organization’s website for marketing to ethnic groups)
- In the future, what improvements are likely to be seen (computer, translation etc.)
- Review the grading rubric for this assignment in the syllabus

Assignment: Research a hospital in your region. Prepare a 3 page APA paper (not including title page and references) answering the questions above noting any additional areas required by referring to the Rubric for additional details.
