When traveling internationally, does your attitude towards linguistics change? your behavior? how you express your cultural identity (do you put it on full display or tone it down)? Do you adopt a global perspective in regards to economics (currency exchange, fair trade, etc.)? When traveling domestically to culturally diverse areas (think Chinatown, the North End, Lawrence, Provincetown, etc.) do you approach your visits with cultural sensitivity and respect in regards to different languages, cultural norms, etc., of that particular region? Why or why not?
