Locate a world news headline. You may choose a current event (see the Reuters World News (Links to an external site.) website for a list of headlines or you may browse via region under the “World” tab) or you may search for a specific topic presented from a non-American source available through the Ashford University Library (Links to an external site.) (e.g., access a database such as International Newsstream or Newspaper Source Plus). For sources located through a database, upload a PDF; for sources located online, share a link to the article.
In your video post, explain the article in your own words. Identify elements of the story that may run counter to an American experience or perspective. Interpret this issue from your own perspective as well as that of the host country. Conclude with an open-ended invitation for your colleagues to join the conversation, perhaps by asking questions or pointing out limitations in your own understanding of the topic.
Your video should be approximately three to five minutes in length and must be accompanied by a transcript. In addition, include a PDF or link to the original article, as well as a list of additional utilized references.
