Intelligence vs. Information / Law Enforcement vs. National Security

From the beginning, law enforcement intelligence has continually suffered misunderstanding and mischaracterization of what it actually is and does. One of the more persistent mistakes is to confuse intelligence with information. Another is to confuse the role of law enforcement intelligence with the role of national security intelligence. After you complete the readings for this week (Carter, Chapters 1 and 2), write a paper and explore both of these issues. Use your own words to compare and contrast information vs. intelligence and, then, law enforcement intelligence vs. national security intelligence. What is the relationship between each, respectively? Feel free to use quality external sources. Please observe the following guidelines:

The paper should be a minimum of 1000 words, but no more than 1500.
APA format will be used, with in-text citations. Include a separate references page.
No title page or running header is necessary
Submit as a Microsoft Word document.
