INFO 6780 Process Model Assignment
1. You are going to develop a process model (Level 0) with the following processes. Using
either Microsoft Visio or Draw.io, start by developing 5 processes (circles) from left to right:
• Inbound logistics
• Operations
• Outbound logistics
• Sales and Marketing
• Service
2. Add the external entities (squares) and place them at the outside of the diagram:
• Suppliers (on left)
• Consumers (on right)
3. Add the following data flows to the diagram being sure to name each of the data flows with
unique names (noun-noun).
• Suppliers – one inflow (supplier payment), one outflow (raw materials), one outflow
(warranty).
• Consumers – one inflow (final product) and one outflow (initial order)
• Suppliers interact with Inbound Logistics
• Consumers send one flow (initial order) to Sales and Marketing
• Consumers receive one flow (final product) from Outbound Logistics and another flow
from Service (warranty).
Add flows among the five processes based upon making a product and selling a product.
Be sure that every process has at least two inflows and two outflows.
Be sure that you use a data flow name only one time so that it is unique.
At the minimum, there should be at least 15 data flows on the process model.
4. Print out a PDF file and turn in both files, as below. Turn in your deliverables no later than
Saturday, October 16th 11:59 pm by email attaching one of the following file formats, either
• Lastname-ProcessAssn.vsdx and Lastname-ProcessAssn.PDF – or –
• Lastname-ProcessAssn.drawio and Lastname-ProcessAssn.PDF
