Types of Information Systems
Organizations today use information systems for several purposes. Think about your business and the types of information systems that you have decided to use in your business. Briefly describe their functions and how they might provide a competitive advantage. Consider the roles of a transactional processing system, functional area systems, and ways to integrate the data.
In this assessment, you will describe the types of information systems that you have decided to use in your business startup and briefly describe their functions and how they provide a competitive advantage.
You have been successful in your business startup. Compose a 3-page (minimum 750 words) informative essay describing the types of information systems that you have decided to use, and briefly describe their functions. How have you integrated the information from these systems, and how are they allowing you to gain a competitive advantage?
- Paper must be a minimum 750-word informative essay (3 pages) in a Microsoft Word document, in APA format, and must include a title page and reference page.
- Paper must be written in Standard English and demonstrate exceptional content, organization, style, grammar, and mechanics.
- Paper should provide a clearly established and sustained viewpoint and purpose.
- Writing should be well ordered, logical, and unified, as well as original and insightful.
- Paraphrase the material and use in-text citations to justify your discussion. Avoid using quotations. Ensure you are properly paraphrasing from your sources.
- Minimum of three sources. At least two scholarly, high-quality, and current Purdue Global Library sources, in addition to your course materials. Peer-reviewed academic articles, articles published in journals, textbooks, and library resources found in the “ProQuest ABI/Inform Collection” database from the Library are examples of high-quality resources.
- Respond to the questions in a thorough manner, providing specific examples of concepts, topics, definitions, and other elements asked for in the questions. Your paper should be highly organized, logical, and focused.
- Be sure to include references for all sources and cite them using in-text citations where appropriate. Use your textbook, the Library, and/or the Internet for research. - Your paper submission should:
- include a title page;
- be double-spaced; and
- be free of spelling or punctuation errors.
