  1. Consider your previous experience with service-learning.
  2. Prepare to discuss the following prompts:
    1. Have any of the learning experiences changed your perception of the role of a leader in changing the world for at-risk individuals? How has your perception changed or not?
    2. In light of what you have learned at IWU, has your attitude regarding your responsibility to care for the poor and at-risk changed? What changes will you be making in your nursing care as a result of what you learned at IWU?
    3. Explain the term social justice by researching the subject. Your text will provide a good starting point. Cite and reference at least one professional source.
    4. Write at least one SMART goal in reference to something you would like to change in the at-risk population you visited in your Service Learning activity.
      1. State Two NANDA Community Nursing Diagnoses to go with your SMART goal, one should be an actual diagnosis, and one risk diagnosis, both should be written in the proper format as noted in the attachment.
      2. Write one outcome objective and three interventions you would use to meet your goal. As noted in the file SMART Goals, Objectives, Interventions, Stakeholders, and Nursing Diagnoses.
    5. Must cite and reference a minimum of one scholarly source.
  3. Post your assessment findings by the fourth day of the workshop.
  4. Review and provide meaningful feedback to at least two of your classmates’ findings on two separate days.
  5. Your feedback to classmates should:
    1. Be a minimum of at least six sentences. Sentences that are social, such as good job, I enjoyed your work or similar are very important but do not count toward your six required sentences.
    2. Be well developed by providing clear answers and specific suggestions with evidence of critical thinking.
    3. Your observations should add greater depth to the discussion by introducing new ideas.
    4. Provide clarification to classmates’ questions and provide insight into the discussion.
  6. Respond to classmates questions in order to provide clarification and add insight to the assessment findings presented.
  7. Based on your educational setting, complete tasks in the instructions below.
