Background Information
- Communicating with other information systems professionals requires common understanding and vocabulary. This discussion is designed for students to review the reading and key vocabulary introduced. Students share their answers by responding to these questions. Instructors can also get involved in the discussions and offer clarification to ensure all students have a correct understanding of the answers and related key concepts.

Instructions
Select one of the two concept lists above;
Read the associated website listed in the Resources section.
Select and review at least one resource identified in the search.
Navigate to the threaded discussion and respond to the following :
- Based upon your selection in Step 1, write at least two paragraphs describing the concepts to your classmates to help them understand these object-oriented concepts being sure to include:
How is it used and defined in the text?
- How is it used and defined in other resources?
Provide examples or diagrams to enhance your response as necessary.
- Ask a question about your topic to which peers will respond.
- Be sure to properly (though informally) cite the resources contributing to your concept discussion.
Your initial post is due by the end of the fourth day of the workshop.
- Read and respond to at least two of your classmates’ postings, as well as all follow-up instructor questions directed to you, by the end of the workshop.
Note: you should select at least one peer post related to your research and one for which you did not conduct additional research. How did your peer assist you in understanding these concepts not researched?
- Each question must receive an answer.
Provide page numbers or internet links for reference.
Your postings should also:
Be well developed by providing clear answers with evidence of critical thinking.
- Add greater depth to the discussion by introducing new ideas or observations.
Provide clarification to classmates’ questions and provide insight into the discussion.
- Be posted on three different days during the workshop.
