We often hear that business exists to maximize shareholder value. However, businesses have been encouraged to evolve and go beyond merely obeying the law to become good corporate citizens and achieve social benefit in addition to maximizing profits.

Background Information
Corporations are being asked to do more and may be castigated when they fail to live up to expectations. While some of the attacks are unfounded, it is possible for companies to do good while remaining profitable. Doing so, however, may bring about its own ethical challenges.

Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.
Navigate to the threaded discussion and discuss the following:
Read, review, and check for understanding in the following module:
Describe how a business can be socially responsible while also ensuring that shareholder profits are handled responsibly.
Please use at least two souses. and follow rubic.
Now prepare a response to two of your classmates by the end of the workshop.
For each, your response to your classmate’s posting should include the following topics:
Identify important information in the other student’s initial posting (facts, experiences, data, etc.).
Identify the main conclusions drawn by the other student’s initial posting.
Identify the underlying main assumption(s), of your classmate’s thinking.
Analyze the key concepts in order to understand your classmate’s line of reasoning.
The focus for your response is not whether or not you agree with your classmate, but understanding the other student’s posting and how well they presented their position.
