“think 3-5 countries will be the right number to focus on. It may be wise to add 1-2 of the Southeast Asian countries (Thailand & Philippines) with a bad Covid situation. In fact, the central bank’s regulatory reactions should be fairly easy to find as you can just search the speeches and statements on this matter now.
What is more pressing is the data – to see how much the health insurance providers will be able to cope with the health crisis. What about the banks? Are there separate health insurances just for the Covid-19 like the case of Thailand? You should try to find out from SAMA what kind of data on this topic is available.
As this is research paper, I’d expect the data to be fairly detailed. The Covid has just been on since last March. I hope we can find monthly, or at least quarterly, data on insurance premiums, fees, percentage of claims, etc, since 2010 or so.”
