In a 3-4 page MLA formatted paper and works cited (an additional page from the 3-4), you will choose one of the films we have studied thus far in the semester, and study the film in these major areas:
- Identity three film elements to analyze, research, and discuss.
- The director.
- Historical context.
As you write, please consider the historical context of the film and investigate how the film is both a product of and a contributor to the ideology of its time. Make sure to support your historical assertions with evidence and research, citing at least 3 outside sources, so you don’t make broad generalizations or guess as to the historical period about which you are writing.
The aspects mentioned below do not need to be systematically answered in your paper, but rather they are meant to stimulate thinking about the larger idea. While you could include some or many of them, please consider them as “starting points” from which you and your co-author can work toward specificity.
