I want you to choose one of the following films: 1917 Black Hawk Down. All of these films are available using the Swank database. Each of these films captures core components of both Jus ad bellum and Jus in bello but also may have elements of Jus post bellum as well. For the purpose of this paper I want you to apply Just War Theory to the portrayal of war in the film, ultimately coming to a conclusion as to whether the war and actions were “just” or not? Your conclusion should only be based on what you see in the film and whether you believe intention or fully meeting the criteria is ultimately the definition of a Just War. This paper must focus on the two components of Jus in Bello and then two additional rules in order to make your argument. Those latter two rules can come from either Jus ad bellum or Jus post bellum. Which you choose are up to you and will likely be based on which movie you choose to watch.
