The housing crisis issue is in the policy maintenance stage. There are currently policies in place that need to be changed. In California we recently voted on proposition 10, which sought to change laws that were put in place in 1995 that allowed property owners to have full control over their rent prices so they could keep up with the market. This has become a problem because owners keep increasing rent making housing unaffordable in some cities throughout the state. In other words, there is a high demand for cheaper rentals and not enough supply. This proposition attempts to fix this by allowing the state to set rent prices.
