“Reflection” Please answer all of the following for week 11:

  • Describe three (3) things that you learned in the course that surprised, confused, or intrigued you, and explain the reasons why. What did you like most about the class? (how kind and helpful the professor was) The weekly discussion topics? The assignments? Who was your favorite “person of the week?”
  • Write 7-8 sentences about your cultural event experience for Assignment 3. Tell us about the museum you visited or the one you created: what artists did you like and what did you learn about art this quarter?

  • Describe three (3) things that you learned in the course that surprised, confused, or intrigued you, and explain the reasons why. What did you like most about the class? The weekly discussion topics? The assignments? Who was your favorite “person of the week?”

I was surprised to learn, that many of the works of art, including the statues were created for some sort of purpose or another. Also, I was confused about there being so many different styles of paintings and music for several periods. And, I was intrigued by the period of romanticism. What I liked most about this class, was that I got to listen to some music that I would have never heard otherwise, and the weekly discussion topics kept me on my toes. I can’t lie, the assignments are never one of my favorites in any course, and Caravaggio was my most favorite person of the week.

The museum I created was one that would cater to the people whom couldn’t afford the high prices of the average museums of art, and it would also be known for its accommodating of all the schools in Georgia. Also, It holds tours for visitors from around the world as well as those locally. The paintings were hung in pairs by artists, and each set of paintings had their own sections.Furthermore, the artist I liked most was Caravaggio, because had I not read the interpretations for these two paintings, I would have never known they both had something to do with the apostles of Jesus, being Matthew and Paul. I learned so much this quarter, I hardly know where to begin. But, the period of romanticism had my full attention. It was quite different from the Baroque, Rococo, Enlightenment, and other periods. Also, I never knew that the use of religion was started to control the people. And, that music and art had its ups and downs throughout history.
