The individual being mentioned in this discussion is an associate’s daughter of mine who is currently a teenage mother. The vulnerable population that she falls within is that of high-risk mothers and infants. The health domain this vulnerable population falls within is physical. She had no known major health issues prior to her finding out she was pregnant. She lacked adequate knowledge of pregnancy and did not discover she was pregnant until she was a little over 5 months, at then which she began to receive prenatal care.
Since the young lady has discovered that she is pregnant, her overall health status has experienced a decline. During her pregnancy she has been diagnosed with anemia, high blood pressure and early complications of Cervical insufficiency. Which ultimately resulted in doctors listing her as a high-risked pregnancy. Also, psychologically she has developed and been diagnosed with moderate depression, which primarily be due to the stress of childbearing at an early age.
In order to maintain and promote good health she must visit and consult with her doctor regularly to monitor her current health conditions. Her doctor has provided strict diet recommendations to help with managing her high blood pressure and anemia. Her physician also suggested counseling services to cope with her moderate depression. Increased education and awareness of potential health issues associated with high-risk pregnancy can help her in decreasing the risk of developing additional health problems while pregnant. Additionally, another way for her to maintain care would be through self-care. Ensuring that she follows and adheres to all of the physicians’ treatments and recommendations, while also effectively communicating any additional questions or concerns, so the physician is better able to manage her care.

High blood pressure it something that can be very hard on a person’s health. This is more of a physical issue rather than social or sociological issue due to the health concerns related to someone diagnosed with HBP. Someone with HPB is at risk of damaging their heart, damage to the kidneys, and in other cases a person may suffer from damage to their brain.
Overall, a person who is suffering with HPB has other risk than the ones mentioned, in more severe cases, a person may suffer from sever pain in their main artery, may have a heart attack, stoke or other serious side affects such as dementia or impairment. If any of these symptoms appear, a person is to seek medical help as soon as possible.
If a person is in the prehypertension stage, they are prone to getting HBP unless precautions are taken immediately. By monitoring their blood pressure regularly and seeking a doctor, they may be given some medication to help the Stage 1 hypertension to help control their blood pressure and keep it elevated.
For a person to try to lower their risk of high blood pressure or in Stage 2, they should maintain a weight of BMI less than 30, and make sure to include physical activity in their daily routines. They should also avoid smoking tobacco and limiting alcohol to about one drink per day if this is something the person consumes large amounts of.
