Module 1 Discussion part 1: The Role of Federal, State, and Local Health Efforts
What are the Issues and What is Your Community Doing about Them?
In this module, you have learned about individual and population health, the people involved in promoting health, and some of the local, state, and federal agencies in place to support these efforts. To explore these efforts in more detail, select one of the Healthy People Goals that has meaning to you, and in 250 words or more, using at least one outside scholarly reference, answer the following:
- Provide the specific language and specific reference number for the Healthy People objective being discussed.
- Describe the issue and why it is important to you.
- Describe 3 programs: In at least 3 separate sentences (including in-text and reference citations for each of the programs discussed), clearly describe a federal program, a state program, AND a local program in your community that helps support improvement in this health issue.

- 5 POINTS This module explored the role of various health care providers and how the role of these providers is changing based on factors such as an aging population and expanded access to health care coverage. In 250 words or more, and using at least one outside scholarly reference, discuss 1) some of the new ways health care is being provided and 2) the expanded role of allied health care providers in this process. For example:
- New places care is being provided
- New job duties for traditional health care providers
- New types of care providers
