HRM – Managing Employee Life Cycle Discussion question

To participate in this week’s discussion, you must have read Chapters 6-7 in the Aguinis text and Chapters 3 & 4 in the Chandler text. Additionally, you should have reviewed the Aguinis power point slides with notes and watched the Chandler video. [

You must watch this video to participate in the Week 3 discussion. The video is about 45 minutes long. Her talk starts around the 4:00 minute mark if you would like to fast forward. Be sure to take notes!

Discussion Prompt: Both Aguinis and Chandler offer differing theories of implementing a performance management system. 1. How do these two authors define and describe performance management? 2. Choose one idea or theme that was presented by both authors, for example – measuring performance, performance systems, employee development or rewards (you are not limited to these) and contrast each author’s perspective. 3. Based on your current work setting, identify which author’s perspective would fit within the organization and explain why. Briefly share industry and size. (Organization name is optional.)
